Meet the team that ensures WA Cares remains effective
For every applicant, beneficiary, caregiver and provider falling under the WA Cares Fund umbrella, there are new statistics and results to collect. The team members collecting and tracking that data are the Data and Outcomes Team.
The reports and metrics created by the Data and Outcomes Team will help WA Cares make data-informed decisions and provide reports to the Washington State Legislature and the public.
Alena leads the team as the Data and Outcomes Administrator and Jonathan and Xinyao are the Program Managers crunching the numbers behind WA Cares long-term care benefits.
“By focusing on performance data and measurable outcomes, I am contributing to a structure that will ensure the program's long-term sustainability and ultimate success,” said Jonathan. “This focus on data isn't just about reporting; it's about making sure the service is delivered effectively to those who need it most.”
Xinyao added, “I’ve always been passionate about assisting my community. Working for WA Cares, I’m helping the entire state.”
By adapting WA Cares over time in response to these statistics, the Data and Outcome Team ensure the program is supporting working Washingtonians effectively.
“Every solvent, reliable government program changes over the course of its existence,” said Xinyao. “WA Cares will be no different. We’re going to see how it needs to evolve to support working Washingtonians for a long time.”
With any luck, WA Cares will serve as an example to other states on how to run similar programs in the future. The data and statistics analyzed by this team will be important for sharing with other interested state governments.
As Jonathan explained, “Every decision, every data point and every process we establish has the chance to reverberate in future programs across the country, impacting the lives of many.”
